SUNY Buffalo State's Professional Development Schools (PDS) is organized as a network of our partner schools, local community centers, and our international initiatives. These partners work with various constituents in out Teacher Education Unit (TEU). The entire network is identified as the PDS Consortium which is guided by the Teacher Education Unit Professional Advisory Council (TEUPAC). Each partnership identifies a liaison committee for day-to-day governance. Please click on the additional tabs to your left for more governance information.
The PDS is constantly involved in self-improvement and sustainability. Evidence of PDS effectiveness can be identified in the examples below.
In Spring 2007, Jane Neopolitan from Towson University in Maryland conducted an external evaluation of our PDS. The consultant's report can be viewed here: Consultant Evaluation pdf
“Results from the 2015 NCATE on-site review indicate that SUNY Buffalo State has met every element of Standard 3: Clinically Rich Practice” in both initial and advanced education programs. The Selected Improvement Commission of the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) also made a distinct decision to recognize that the EPP is moving toward target on Standard 3.”
