Our graduates have found meaningful employment in a wide range of industries across the globe. One of the distinguishing features of Africana Studies as a discipline is that knowledge must be relevant and actionable. This is in line with Buffalo State’s applied learning model, which focuses on providing hands-on experiences, not just theoretical knowledge.

Africana Studies majors across the country get jobs as journalists, media relations consultants, psychologists and counselors, social workers, program administrators, state and local government workers, foreign service specialists, high school teachers, university professors, and more.
