Upon returning from our International PDS teach and study abroad programs, teacher candidates often become the most effective “unintentional” ambassadors for IPDS. Peer-to-peer discussions about past program experiences have proven to be the most constructive method for attracting and engaging new participants. IPDS Student Ambassadors are able to share their knowledge and enthusiasm about international travel and recruit their peers by facilitating class presentations, hosting open house events, and using social media to share the experiences of former participants as well as opportunities and pathways for engaging future participants. Ambassadors also serve on the IPDS committee and attend monthly meetings to provide student input to program leaders and supporting faculty.
Past IPDS participants who wish to serve as an IPDS Student Ambassador can email:
Pixita del Prado Hill or Tamara Horstman-Riphahn.
