The PDS Consortium holds its annual conference at the beginning of each fall semester. Conferences bring together PDS partners - including school teachers and administrators, campus faculty and staff, and teacher candidates - for lively discussions on selected topics. In addition, teacher candidates share their current research through workshops and poster presentations. Click below to view past retreat photos and information about past presentations.
Many thanks to those of you have were planning to attend, or had submitted a proposal for, the Buffalo State PDS annual conference. It is with a heavy heart that we have decided to cancel the event for 2020.
This decision was not made lightly, especially given the excellent proposals we received. With so many uncertainties facing P-16 educators in the coming academic year, we believe that many will not be able to attend a conference in September. Instead, we will redirect the funds that would have be used to hold the conference to professional development opportunities requested by PDS stakeholders. We have also asked the NYS Teacher of the Year if she will provide a virtual version of her keynote address. These opportunities will be posted to the PDS website.
We also encourage you to share your wonderful work and propose the following options:
Develop a virtual presentation of your project and email to us at firstname.lastname@example.org so we can post it to the PDS website.
If the focus of your topic is on issues related to social justice, submit a proposal for the Anne Frank Project Social Justice Festival (due July 1).
Submit a proposal next year to present your project at the 2021 PDS Conference.
We will miss seeing you at this annual event and hope that we will be able to gather again in person soon. All our best for good health in the coming year.
